The Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Science (CVMBS) uses an abstract management system to assist with the administration of various programs designed to fund and advance student and faculty research initiatives, including the collection and review of student abstracts for their Annual Research Day, grant proposals and program applications.

Using their own in-house tool hindered the process and created unnecessary work for staff, as they did not have adequate internal resources to maintain and update the system. So CVMBS sought out a third party system—and in the process, developed a unique way to use the tool to build anticipation and excitement for their annual event.
