3 Ways Collection Makes Online Review Easier: Part 1

Regardless of the process, whether it’s a call for papers, call for proposals, or call for abstracts, you may want to review the information you just collected. I’m going to do a three part series investigating what you should look at to make your life and the reviewers life easier with a system; after all, isn’t that the goal?

In this first part, let’s focus on the reviewer and how we can make their life easier. Well, you want to make sure they are able to get an email right from the system. They log right in and they see only the submissions that they need to review. It’s easy for them to access the submissions they need to look at and when they’ve done that, they’re only able to see the information they need; not cluttering it up with additional information.

After they’ve read the proposal of the abstract they’re looking at, they can give you clear and concise feedback. Feedback that you’ve already stored in the system. Maybe a rating scale. Maybe comments. Maybe yes-no questions. Regardless, you want to make it easy for them. You want to make sure that when they’ve gone into the system and they’ve done what they need, they get feedback. “This one’s complete. This one’s incomplete. You have not yet started these.”

Remember, you want to make the reviewers life as easy as possible so that your life can be made easy as well.
