If you haven’t already heard, HSMAI’s Affordable Meetings has made some major changes to their conferences. The conference has deemed a new name, MEET, which stands for Meetings, Events, Education and Technology. MEET National which is coming up September 7-8 in Washington D.C. is estimated to expect 250 exhibitors and 1,800 planning professionals,
and will be the first to show off the MEET make-over.

Four New Features at MEET National:

  1. TEEM Up: The traditional trade show will be reversed to allow planners to set up appointments with exhibitors. Qualified planners won’t be able to make appointments will just any exhibitor. Instead they will work with a HSMAI employee, (aka Attendee Concierge) who will match them up with relevant exhibitors based on their needs and interests.
  2. MEET Exhibitor Concierge: A MEET Exhibitor Concierge will be on staff to work with suppliers on their marketing strategy ensuring they are making lasting business connections before, during and after the event.
  3. MEET On: HSMAI will livestream 12 sessions and interviews with exhibitors and presenters as well as provide a virtual tradeshow for those who can’t make it to the face-to-face event. All virtual content will be free and available year-round.
  4. MEET University: The MEET University program allows for more of an interactive learning between planners and industry professionals. There is a format for every attendee! Formats include Boot Camp for intense skill-building, Flash Talks where attendees choose the topics of discussion and Concurrent Sessions which are quick sessions on best practices and ideas. Additionally, there will be Case Study Workshops, Exhibitor Workshops and Tips, Flash Talks where attendees choose the topics of discussion, Speed Learning Tools & Tips and Peer-to-Peer Roundtables.

See the full preliminary program for details, and make sure and check out Paul Wehking’s session on “Content is King… If Captured, Organized & Shared” September 8th at 9:45am.

What are you most looking forward to at HSMAI’s MEET National?
